Yet, the remarkable thing is the way it communicates all this information. It has no trace either of the scholarly tone or of today's slang. In very straightforward fashion, the editors speak to teens, recognizing the questions and problems they have at their point in life, but never talking down to them.
This Bible also has a special heart for new Christians or those who are struggling to become believers. A helpful section following the Bible Reading Plan at the back is labeled "Appointments with God." Each of 14 points or "appointments" are discussed briefly using a four-point program (Talk to God, Investigate God's Word, Make it practical, Express your thoughts). This section is written for the new teen convert but also is useful for older backsliders.
The Student's Life Application Bible has a few graphic black-and-white illustrations but no color. Also, the type is not very large, and it seems to be meant for older teens or perhaps college freshmen. If you're packing a teen off to college this fall, this Bible would be a good thing to include in the bags.
