Priorities all year long

With Father's Day coming on June, four new pocket-size gift books designed for men fill the bill for a gift remembrance. Each book is filled with inspirational quotes from well-known individuals and Scripture on a particular topic: Courage, Priorities, Purpose, and Success. These four books are designed to develop personal character and help men invest themselves in the lives of others.

The range of backgrounds among the sources quoted, nearly all men, can be seen in the volume on Priorities. Along with quotes from Bill Cosby, Gary Smalley, Thomas Carlyle, Billy Graham, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, and a number of others, we read George MacDonald's "Fatherhood is at the core of the universe."

The books are handsomely bound with sturdy hardcovers. They feature artwork by nationally recognized nature artist and Christian, Scott Kennedy. A full-color painting by Kennedy is on the front cover of each book, and on the last two pages, he describes something about the painting -- how he happened to paint it, what verses of Scripture inspired his work, what techniques he used, etc.
