Teen Mania reaches students who are thinking about becoming a Christian and those who want a stronger faith.
"We've had too many young people riding the emotional rollercoaster of spirituality," says Luce. "It's time they got off. They need to study and understand the Word of God."
Luce couldn't help but notice that a lot of teens who came to the conventions didn't have or bring a Bible. With that understanding of the need, Luce became the general editor for the new Promise Bible for Students, a teen version of The Promise in the easy-to-understand CEV translation. More than 100 teens provided input on what the product should look like and what content should be included. When they felt teens would want to write a response, they put in a section at the back, "Write Your Own Stuff Here."
Scattered throughout The Promise Bible for Students is lots of personal advice, pages designated with the bold word Promise. For example, at Acts 3, we find a section entitled, "He promises to save you." At Philippians 1, the section is entitled "He promises to complete a good word in you." Other commentary sections address the teen directly ("You are a part of a holy nation.") to impress them with the promise.
Luce is clear that he wants teens to be WorldChangers. His rallies and conventions may not go down well with adults, but teens do hear him as he lays the claim of Christ on their hearts. Now he can reach beyond the rallies with the Promise Bible for Students.
