This is the situation facing a group of new believers who call themselves The Tribulation Force. The group is made up of Rayford Steele, an airline pilot, his 20-year-old daughter, Chloe, and Bruce Barnes, former visitation pastor who becomes a Bible study leader of this core group "determined to challenge the forces of evil during the Tribulation period predicted in the Bible." Cameron "Buck" Williams, a senior staff writer for a prestigious news magazine, later joins the group as its fourth member.
As strange as it may seem, these four are the only ones on the planet who know United Nations Secretary Nicolai Carpathia's identity as the Antichrist. Rayford and Buck are pressed into service for him, positions which give them opportunity to oppose the Antichrist.
Although The Tribulation Force by Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins is a sequel to their best-selling Left Behind, it also can stand alone. The 450-page novel may seem daunting at first, but it is action-packed. (The audio version is abridged.) Its basis in Scripture sets it apart from others in the genre. Since this account leaves us at the beginning of the Tribulation, look for another book by this talented duo in the near future.
