Need a little extra cash?

Review by Pamela Clements

Everyone wishes they had a money machine in their basement to print up a little extra cash whenever they are running short. Well, Gwen Ellis, author of 101 Ways to Make Money at Home has the plan for that machine, and it's perfectly legal.

You, of course, are the machine. But with these plans you could easily be making money in your basement, or spare room, or any number of places. Ellis has written a true beginners' manual to entrepreneurial adventure. Her first chapter is a combination of encouragement and questions about personal interests, skills, and ability to work from home.

The next step is understanding what working from home involves. Ellis provides a great deal of important information about market potential, personal time requirements, legal ramifications, production needs, and start-up costs in a clear nonthreatening way that is vital to anyone considering an at-home business for the first time. Ellis ends her planning chapter with a simple business plan.

The rest of the book is devoted to the 101 work-at-home ideas. Each idea has a description of the start-up costs, the projected break-even point, and the potential for annual income. Then there is a short section that explains the work, any necessary equipment, and pricing and advertising suggestions.

The final section is devoted to Setting Up Your Workplace and Getting the Support You Need. In addition, there is a large resource section for anyone seeking more information about their special venture.

101 Ways to Make Money at Home is a winner in information, encouragement, and know-how. If you're ready to make the leap, this book can show you the way that is best for you.
