God's Angels Comfort Us Year-Round
Angels seem to stay with us, at least from Christmas through Valentine's Day, but according to Angels in Action by Helen Haidle there's plenty of biblical evidence that they're at work all year long. Haidle doesn't present children with sweet stories about pink-faced cherubs that adorn our cards and decorations. Using question and answer format, she addresses some of kids' most common interests about angels and gives biblical truth in reply.
For example, she includes the following questions (only a brief part of her answer is given):
How many angels are there?
Countless thousands according to Daniel 7:10
Can animals see angels?
Balaam's donkey did in Numbers 22:21-35
What do angels usually say?
"Don't be afraid!" as the angels told the shepherds in Luke 2:8-16.
Are angels with us when we die?
Hebrews 12:22-23 says "thousands and thousands of angels are in the city of God.
Haidle uses contemporary stories as well as biblical accounts to answer the questions in this 48-page book for ages 711.
Comforting rather than sensationalist, Angels in Action provides clear evidence of God's love from His Word.
Illustrations by David Haidle, the author's husband, in soft pale colors are on each page. The Haidles are best known for their 1989 award-winning book, The Lord Is My Shepherd.
