This keepsake volume contains the memories of well-known women such as Naomi Judd, Twila Paris, Dale Evans Rogers, Barbara Johnson, and Evelyn Roberts, plus others whose stories first appeared in Guideposts magazine.
Like Dickens's famous A Christmas Carol, this book is divided into three parts. The first, "The Memories of Christmas Past: Glimpses of Our Childhood Christmases," takes readers back to Christmas pageants, baking cookies, and the sounds of carols.
In the second section, "The Memories of Christmas Present: Glimpses of Later Years," Barbara Johnson relates some "frozen pictures" of Christmas with her family, including one when her son's solo began "While shepherds washed their socks by night."
The final segment, "Creating the Memories of Christmas Future: Ideas for Christmases to Come," contains recipes and describes nontraditional Christmas observances. Anne Graham Lotz writes of asking Jesus what he would like for his birthday and says that the joy she receives in fulfilling his request is the best present of all.
The last section of Christmas Memories from Our Hearts to Yours is followed by several blank pages to record memories and observances. Terry Meeuwsen observes, "So many of the traditions we've adopted have been inspired by someone else. I hope this book will be an inspiration to you in establishing your own traditions."
