In the 55 meditations of A Miracle A Day, Ann Spangler meets our desire for true stories of the "miraculous" but presents them from a biblical perspective. She defines miracles as "an extraordinary form of divine communication."
They always convey a spiritual message and support a deeper grounding in the faith.
She occasionally drops in statements that really get our attention. After relating her childhood experience at her grandmother's funeral, she goes on to say, "I have since come to believe that sometimes people do rise from the grave." She takes literally, as believers should, Jesus' raising Lazarus from the dead. More than that she sees it as "a sign of hope for every follower of Christ in every age of the church."
Spangler writes a thoughtful introduction for each theme as well as the meditations. Readers may remember Spangler's previous bestseller, An Angel a Day.
If you want to extend the sense of wonder beyond the Christmas season, either for yourself or for others, try the thoughtful and believing words of Ann Spangler.
