Before we say too much either way, a good starting place would be to read See the Wind, Mommy. Marsha Crockett has designed this little book of devotionals to help mothers see their children in a completely new light. As a busy young mother herself, Crockett knows what it's like to feel a close relationship with God is elusive ("a mirage in the desert"), and she wants to share her discovery that children can enrich our spiritual growth.
Each of the 12 chapters has a parenting theme that is developed in a relevant illustration. This is followed by seven days listing a key verse and a key thought built around that theme. All direct us to see God's love and care with the eyes of a child.
Crocket's two daughters are now nine and five, and she is convinced that the years of mothering very young children are years of spiritual growth, of "filling her treasure chest with the jewels God sends her" through her children. She gives readers the opportunity to do the same in See the Wind, Mommy.
