For hundreds even thousands of years, Christians and Jews have been looking for their Messiah. To the Jewish people, the Messiah has yet to come. To Christians, He has already come and will come again.

I am writing this book because I want you to know that the coming of the Messiah is not a theory for scholars to debate. It is not a fable for the sophisticated to ignore. It is not a factoid for the fastidious to file. It is not a riddle for the obsessive to solve. It is instead the most important truth of our age--not merely to understand but to anticipate, embrace, and live out.

I believe this not only because of my unshakable confidence in what the Bible says about the future, but also because the events of these last months draw me inexorably to the conclusion that the Messiah is coming very soon. And no other event in recent history underscores this more than the assassination of one of the greatest men of our age--Yitzhak Rabin.

I'm writing this book to help you see how the events of recent days fit into God's accelerating prophetic timetable for the world, Israel, and you. But I want you to do more than just see the outline--I want you to grasp the outcome. I want this book to be a wake-up call to you that the prophesied events are fast approaching and will affect you!

With every tick of the clock, the prophecies of the Word of God come closer and closer to fruition. This is not just an intriguing coincidence--it is an irrefutable demonstration that God is in complete control over all of human history. God's will is going to be accomplished. His victory is going to be complete. As you're reading this book, I want you to ask yourself whether the God who controls history controls you? Have you yielded fully to His sovereignty? I'm also writing this book to help you understand that tomorrow might not be like today. This evening might not be like this morning. The next hour might not be like this hour. There is absolutely no guarantee that tomorrow will be like today, and I hope this book will make that fact very clear. There is a tomorrow that will usher in events that will completely change your life and your future. This is not the time to put off what you know to be right. This is not the time to proscrastinate. This is not the time for complacency. This is not the time to be lukewarm. This is the time to realize that one day time will be no more and the choices you have made in life will be irrevocably ratified for all eternity.

I'm writing this book with three distinct audiences in mind:

For Jews: I am writing as a friend to set before you what God's Word says about the momentous choices Israel and the Jewish people face as you cope with the assassination of Yitzhak Rabin and the prospect and price of peace in the Middle East. I want to show you God's future for Israel and Jerusalem. And I want to share with you what the Word of God says about Messiah's past and His future.
For Christians: I am writing to increase your confidence in God and His Word. What he has predicted will come to pass, and it is happening right before our very eyes. I am writing to bolster your courage--God not only provides, He protects: as we do His work, and from the wrath to come. Now more than ever we need to be strong and courageous--to attempt great things for God and to expect great things from God. The time is short.

For those who have missed the Rapture: I am writing to the one who finds this book in the future time of Tribulation. You may be confused and terrified by the momentous events you are experiencing. You may be in hiding. Like so many other books, this book may be contraband. You may feel alone. You may be hungry, thirsty, homeless, and desperately ill. You may ache inside from grieving over the horrific human slaughter--not only in the world as a whole but also among your family and your friends. You may be tempted to believe the explanation for these events offered by the world leader--explanations that everyone around you seems to believe. Know this: The Word of God has predicted all of these events for centuries. And just as what you're now experiencing was foretold long ago, the Word of God also predicts that all enemies of the Messiah will be conclusively and completely destroyed soon. Read this book and you'll meet the real Messiah. Take heed to this book, then lift up your heads--your redemption draws near.
