In David and Goliath, we hear the voices of brave David, his crusty and faithful servant Amos, and anxious father Jesse. Sheep bleat in the background and Goliath's feet loudly stomp when he challenges the Israelites to fight him.
Saul Chases David through deserts, caves, and towns in this audio adventure story. Children will hear Jonathan's kind voice as he helps David and later sings him an upbeat praise song as a tribute to their friendship.
An evil plot's underway as conniving Haman tries to have all Jews killed in the story of Esther. The queen expresses her fears to her wise uncle, Mordecai, and asks God for guidance in her troubles. Nehemiah, the cupbearer to the king, is heartbroken to hear that Jerusalem is lying in ruins. His woe-stricken ballad laments the loss of Jerusalem and expresses his faith that God will help his people rebuild.
These cassettes will be enjoyed by children as young as preschoolers, but the activity books are geared for older readers. Slightly confusing is the fact that the Esther cassette refers to the king as Xerxes while the activity book refers to him as Ahasuerus. Beyond this, children will like the variety of voices, the clever sound effects, and the contemporary songs that accompany each story.
Mike and Amy Nappa both write an review many books for Christian readers.
